Australia is home to four out of top 10 most liveable cities in the world

According to 2013 The Economist Intelligence Unit’s Global Liveability Rankings, four out of top 10 most liveable cities are in Australia. In fact, Melbourne is number one! The other ones are Adelaide, Sydney and Perth.

These rankings were based on many different factors including culture, healthcare, stability, environment, education and infrastructure.

Top-Ranked universities

Australia has some of the best universities in the world. According to the 2013-14 Times Higher Education University Rankings, 19 Australian universities were included among the top 400 universities in the world. Universities in Australia offer high-level support to overseas students, including academic support, foundation years and pathway, English language support and consumer support. Australian universities and Australian Government also provide numerous scholarships in Australia for deserving international students.

Overseas students get opportunity to gain work experience in Australia

International students now can get the opportunity to spend more time in Australia after completing their courses and degrees.

Recently, the Government of Australia has made some changes to the Temporary Graduate visa to initiate new work arrangements for some graduates of an Australian bachelor’s, masters or doctoral degree. These new arrangements, combining with strong Australian economy and low unemployment, make overseas students work and study in Australia.

Quality standards

Australian authorities have formed the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA), a national regulatory and quality agency for higher education. The agency is responsible for monitoring the quality, and regulate university and education providers against a set of standards established by the Higher Education Standards Panel, an independent body.

Also, we have the Education Services for Overseas Students law that protects:
  • The wellbeing of all overseas students
  • The quality of your education experience
  • The provision of the latest and accurate information.
